The Chosen does not age along with real time, and in the roleplay it is whatever is listed below as the current time frame. The time will slowly be changed and announcements will be made when it does.
Current Time: January 2020.
Weather Conditions: It's cold, still being winter. It snows periodically but it rarely ever sticks as they live on the coast.
The fictional city of Crawford is located on the coast of Massachusetts and is somewhere north of Plymouth and south of Quincy. It's a huge city, that has tall buildings and huge businesses. It supplies not only the city's own economy, but also helps with the neighboring small towns. In the last 50 or so years, it's developed to become known for it's gambling much like Las Vegas. The city is surrounded by dense forests that stretch for miles on the north, south, and west sides of it. The east side of the city runs along the coast.
The city started off as a small fisherman's town by a man named William Crawford, back in the late 1700's. Now the city is booming, and though the sea doesn't supply all of the income for the residents, it's still a big part of their culture. They're known for great sea food, and their beautiful beach known as Rosalie Beach which is named after William's only daughter.
The City is split into six main districts. The Sea District, which is along the coast. The Leather District, which is the northern part of the city. The Financial District, which is the center of the city and where the majority of the casinos are located. The Chinatown District, which is in between the Financial and Sea Districts. The Residential District, which is located down south and is where most of the homes are located that are not in an apartment building or condo. Lastly Williamson Park, which is a large park that is to the west of the city and now many businesses and apartment buildings are located there.
Willow Creek is a picturesque town located in the state of Massachusetts and is about thirty something miles south of Crawford City. Dense woods completely surround the town and it's about as far away from the coast as it is away from the city. It gained it's name for the abundance of willow trees that fill the town, especially along it's rivers and creeks. The town was founded in the mid 1800's and is populated by a handful of thousands.
The town has a founders council whose members are the townspeople that descend from the original settlers of Willow Creek, as well as various municipal officials. They are a civic organization dedicated to celebrating local history of the town. Secretly, the council's mission is to protect the town from vampires, werewolves, and even the Cursed. Journals written by members of the founding families describing monsters and how to catch and kill them are passed down through subsequent generations.
The founding families are: Grant, Lawson, Bishop, McKinley, and Whitmore. You are allowed to make a character a part of these families, but you will be required to figure out who you are related to and make sure the character goes along with whatever has been made already.
The Safe Haven is a series of abandoned factory buildings located within Crawford City. It's ran by a psychic named James Martan. It acts as a safe place for supernaturals that are on the run from SIA or anything else for that matter. In the depths of one of the buildings, there are multiple rooms with beds and everything needed to survive. Supernatural beings are welcomed to stay here permanently, or only until they can leave elsewhere, or they are set up with a new identity.
You can make characters who help run the Safe Haven, just get admin approval.
Damian's Rock is a strange stone that is standing upright in the middle of a field, which is surrounded by dense forest. The rock is somewhere in between Crawford City and Willow Creek. Witches and some psychics can feel an energy here, and for some reason they feel drawn to it. Perhaps that is why there are so many supernaturals in the area. Only beings with an inner darkness are able to touch the rock and when they do, they hear multiple unintelligible voices whispering to them. Those who don't have an inner darkness will physically not be able to touch the stone, as if there's an invisible force keeping them from doing so.
Multiple events have occurred on this land. It's said that a Native American massacre took place here by pilgrim settlers. A man named Jonathan Bradshaw took his wife Mary Bradshaw, two sons, and two daughters out to the stone and killed them in the 1800's. He then laid them around the rock in order to create a pentagram. He was executed by Willow Creek's officials on February 8th, 1876. Many strange events happened like that, at the rock... The most recent one would be that of Damian Bishop who was a member of one of the founding families within Willow Creek. In 1982, Damian murdered a total of 28 people. He decapitated them and put their heads on spears that filled the field around the stone. When asked why he did it, he replied: "The Devil made me do it."
A strange beam of light shot out of the area about 11:28 PM on March 28th, 2019. As this happened the moon turned blood red, then Crawford City and Willow Creek experienced an earthquake. Most didn't see the light, but some had to have... Right?
