SUPERNATURAL GIFTS
ABILITIES
Shapeshifting - A Shifter has the ability to change into an animal form at will. They gain whatever strength, speed, and other abilities that animal form may naturally have.
Accelerated Healing - A shifter heals faster than humans and animals do, taking about half the time to recover from an injury. Example: if a human would take 8 days to recover from a physical injury the shifter would recover from that same injury in only 4 days.
Partial Shapeshifting - A skill that takes a shapeshifter a lot of time and training to develop. They are able to partly shift into their animal form. This can include external and internal changes, like morphing the insides of their ears into their animal’s in order to enhance their hearing.
Magical Prowess - A shifter is able to naturally use magic and feel an affinity for the craft. They do not need to worship any God or Demon to use magic but if they do not use an outside source then they can easily exhaust themselves.
Clairvoyance - As supernatural creatures, Shifters can see and hear ghosts the same way Vampires, Werewolves, and other ghosts can.
WEAKNESSES
Magical Exertion - If a shifter uses too much of their own magical essence for power than they risk overexerting themselves. This can cause nose bleeds, unconsciousness, and even death.
Mortality - Shifters are mortal creatures and can be killed with any standard method.
Imprinting - Though not always a bad thing, imprinting can cause a shifter to lose themselves. While the feelings of unconditional love and fondness are good highs, the lows are extreme and could be too much for a shifter to handle.
Binding - Witches are able to use magic to control a shifter to do whatever they wish. This does not make the shifter unaware of being controlled and while some may be able to fight it slightly, there is no way to resist the witch’s control.
COUNTER MAGIC
Binding - There is magic that can be done in order to break one’s control over a shifter but it has to be done by another witch. This spell can be very finicky and a witch could accidentally hurt the shifter, so it’s advised for the witch to have as much practice and skill as possible.
Imprinting Reversal - There is very old magic that can be used to break a shifter from their witch, however it is not known by most. The hard part is the shifter themselves has to conduct the ritual and it can be explained feeling as if you’re “ripping out your own kidney.”.

STORY SO FAR
Jasper was born to Elizabeth and David Harris. He had an older sibling from his mother’s previous relationship, a sister. The half siblings were very close and although they didn’t share the same father, the children were treated equally. Jasper was more of the bookworm of the two, however. He would often spend his time curled up in the reading nook of the family farmhouse. However, the family often would go out camping and he and his sister always looked forward to the annual camping trips.
When Jasper got older, he experienced his first change. It scared him when he suddenly was a black wolf and he was caught as it by his father. Instead of attacking or harming him, his father soothed the worried boy and reassured him this was normal and that he, too, was a shifter. Thus began Jasper’s realization to the innate powers he had. However, his father quickly urged him not to reveal his powers to anyone for safety and only to do it when out at the farm where no one could discover him.
As he entered high school, his desire for knowledge continued to grow. And the confidence of seeing his shifting form as a black wolf helped. Whereas others may have experienced awkwardness through puberty, Jasper seemed to flourish. He grew out of his shell and became a very social young man. He was even en route to college after school. Things were great.
However, the summer after he graduated, his sister came to him in tears. She had been attacked by an animal a while back and desperately needed his help. She confessed to him that she had forcibly changed into a wolf and explained what had happened afterwards. Jasper was shocked because they didn’t share the same father so she couldn’t have been a shifter as well. He reassured her he would help and quickly delved into books.
Soon, he discovered his answer- a werewolf curse. He helped his sister out as much as he could over the next several months and by the following summer, they had decided that they would look for a werewolf pack, somewhere, to hopefully help her adjust to this change. The siblings told their parents they would be going on a summer-long camping trip, which their parents never questioned, and thus they took off.
At first, the trip was fruitless. But, just as they began to give up hope, fate seemed to change hands. As they were in North Carolina in the Appalachian Mountains, they were discovered by a pack of werewolves. The scent of a foreign wolf attracted them as they were in the pack’s territory. The pack leader, Lux Bryant, asked why they were there and the siblings launched into their story.
Against all odds, Lux agreed to take Jasper’s sister into the pack to teach her the ways of being a werewolf. Jasper felt relief, but also some sadness as he would have to let his sister go. The siblings agreed upon a story to give their parents when Jasper would return and the siblings parted ways tearfully, with Lux earning the forever respect, admiration and friendship of Jasper.
The young man returned home to Willow Creek, back to work and school, satisfied in knowing that his sister was in good hands. Contact with his sister was sparse at times, which he attributed to the pack’s movements. Though it had been quite some time since he had heard from her and he can't help but worry every now and then if she's okay and waits patiently to hear from her again.
