STORY SO FAR
Rayne Maleficent Black was born on October 31, 1855 to Jace Ramos Black and Jillian Lucinda O'Neil along with Rayne's identical twin sister, Rayvn Victoria Black. Both girls received a Noble's education, growing up playing in the gardens and roaming the halls of the Black Family Manor. Many times, Rayne was found hiding with her twin from her Governess among the many bedrooms when they weren't in lessons or attending the lavish balls their parents held. A year before the twin's came of age to be married, Jace and Lillian began to seek out suitors for the twins. The two that stuck out the most to their parents were Darius and Marrow McGregor. The McGregor family had been friends and allies of the Black family for centuries so when the brothers came to call upon the twins, Jace found the match to be perfect. What he didn't expect was for the twins to fall in love with each other's suitors. When it came time to chose a suitor, Rayvn surprised her father by stating that she did not wish to marry just yet. Due to this and in a fit of rage, Jace made the decision for the twins, accepting the McGregor's offer of marriage. He did not give either a choice as to which brother they wished to marry either, deciding what he thought was the best match on his own. Jace wanted them to be married as quickly as possible so the wedding was planned over the span of a few weeks.
On the morning of October 31, 1871 Rayne came to her twin sister with a proposition. She knew that Rayvn had fallen for Darius just as she had fallen for Marrow, the fact that their father refused to listen to reason on the subject lead her to believe that they would have to take matters into their own hands. She told her sister that she wished to switch places so that they could have the man that they wanted. At first Rayvn argued, not wishing to go against her duty to the family but Rayne always had a way of convincing her sister. Finally, with just moments before the ceremony began, Rayvn agreed to the swap in hopes that she would at least reap some benefit from the marriage. Neither sister was expecting what would come next. After the vows were said and the McGregor brothers lifted their veils to reveal the women they had married as well as the betrayal that they had committed, Darius revealed his family's darkest secret when he sank his fangs into Rayvn's neck. Shocked but unable to stop his brother, Marrow found no choice but to do the same to Rayne. The guests scattered and screamed while Rayvn and Rayne were drained of life and then fed their Husband's blood in order to revive them a few hours later, damning them to an eternity of Vampirism. Many died that night at the hands of the McGregor family, including Jace and Lilian Black.
Among the casualties were Abbigail, though it was the beginning of a new life for the two women, neither of them could have foreseen the trail of bodies that would follow in their wake. For nearly half a century Rayne traveled with her twin as well as Darius and Marrow across the Irish countryside and eventually to the new world. However, the more they bounced from place to place, the more Rayne came to familiarlize herself with the joys and freedoms that her new unlife entailed. Not entirely disloyal to her husband, the young woman used her more feminine wiles in order to become a more efficent predetor.
As the years drew on and she continued to travel with Darius and Marrow, the woman began to grow bored with them. The two men seemed to be stuck in the old ways, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing except for the fact that they insisted she remain proper, stick to higher society despite the liberties she was able to take. In 1912, the young woman broke away from her Sire, abandoning him in favor of becoming the exact opposite of what she once was. Having long since grown tired of the confines of 'High Society' Rayne became a Lady of the Night, making her way though various towns and cities under the guise of a 'working' woman. She used her abilities and her looks to attract customers, even getting to know them a little bit in order to figure out which ones she could get away with causing to disappear and which ones she would not be able to do so with.
Rayne's attention span grew short, however and she grew bored once more, finding no pleasure in the work she had been doing after a few years, so in 1960 she shifted her focus on the flower power movement. The notion of Free love appealed to her and she flourished among the hippies. Though she wasn't always getting paid for her services, that didn't stop her from taking what she wanted and collecting what she felt she was owed from whatever they had in their pockets at the time. The woman cared little for the politics at the time, having left such things behind after leaving her Sire's side but as the movement grew more intense and drugs became more prominent, the woman began to blend with the throngs of people more and more. By the late sixties and early seventies, the woman had adapted completely to the new era, giving in competely to the values of those around her.
Like all good things, however, this too came to an end. The seventies passed in a psychodelic blur as time marched on, bringing with it the infamous hair bands of the eighties and then the boybands of the nineties. With these changes also came the gradual acceptence of women and their bodies. Strip clubs became more prominent and less secretive, their reputations, while still shady became openly talked about and the woman found herself drawn to them. The attention and the money they brought allowed her to live how she wished and gave her decent feeding grounds as well. Though Rayne did adapt a bit more, she still killed on occasion, primarily when a customer got a bit too handsy for her liking.
The woman had long since lost track of her twin's whereabouts, not realizing that she would end up in the same city as the woman as she found herself in years after their seperation. Rayne had moved to Crawford because of how big the city itself was, the abilty to get lost in it, to just disappear no matter how many people you saw in one night appealed to her greatly and she settled herself there, looking for work in local clubs as quickly as she could.
