Location: Willow Creek
Type: Victorian House
Number Of Bedrooms: 4
Number Of Bathrooms: 2.5
Description: The house was built in the 1910's, soon after Chris Anderson's arrival in Willow Creek. It includes a large gourmet kitchen, breakfast area, and a large partially-covered rear deck overlooking the private beautifully landscaped yard. Upstairs, there is a very large master bedroom and bathroom that has a restored original claw-foot tub, plus a separate shower stall and double vanity. Renovations were done in 2004 to include a laundry room and a renovated 2nd floor hall bathroom.
The Center Entrance Hall has a distinctive split staircase, hand-carved built-in bench, original pocket doors, and rare chestnut wainscoting in the dining room. The library/family Room has built-in storage and shelving on 3 walls. There is a gas fireplace in the large living room. A 6-burner gas cook-top with mantle-style overhead exhaust hood highlights the spacious kitchen, which has custom wood cabinets, granite counters, stainless appliances, breakfast bar, and two sink work-stations. Built-ins with cabinets with granite counters line one wall of the breakfast room, which offers great views of the yard through large custom windows. There is a convenient mudroom off the kitchen that is a great place to drop off coats.
The driveway travels up from the road and past the house, leading behind it to a detached 2-Car garage. There are several small bonus rooms up on the 3rd floor which offer great potential for bedrooms, offices, playrooms, or whatever extra space needed. And the basement (which has bilco door access to the yard) is very clean and spacious too. There is a very large metal door that is very secure and has not been opened in decades, Chris Anderson is the only one with the key.
When warm weather arrives, you'll enjoy carefully chosen specimen plantings throughout the sweeping 2/3 acre yard. Which is meticulously maintained by the Monroe family, with a new roof on most of the house, updated wiring, and newer multi-zone HVAC systems. The house is not far from downtown Willow Creek, being in walking distance.
